So, my good friend Mike decided that the computer forecast models for Atlantic-based hurricanes are getting to where they are, well, repetitive. They have all these billion dollar supercomputers whirring away coming up with these and they all eventually look the same. I couldn’t agree more.

Here’s his rendition of what all future forecast models should look like. So, anytime anybody wants to see what a given forecast model will look like for any given storm … just check back to here.

He wasn’t far off – here’s a real computer model and there’s definitely some similarity.

Malls of America

It is understandable to be a bit skeptical about a website dedicated entirely to malls, but this one is worth a peek. This cool site takes a nostalgic look at the “old malls” of America that thrived during the 1960′s and 1970′s.

Take a trip through time and see what American malls used to look like, before the invasion of the chain stores. Highlights include photos of the old malls, info on long-gone stores, and other ephemera from the shopping mall culture.

Jesse Jackson, while visiting a primary school class, found himself in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asks the Rev. Jackson if he would like to lead the discussion on the word “tragedy.”

So the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a “tragedy.”

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here’s a plan.

1. The US will apologize to the world for our “interference” in their affairs, past and present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, and the rest of those ‘good ole boys,’ – we will never “interfere” again.
