Well, the local Hyundai dealer (Legacy Hyundai) and their new Service Manager pissed me off enough so I decided to do my own oil change. I sent them an e-mail over a week ago to schedule an appointment and STILL haven’t heard back. With the old service manager I’d hear back within 30 minutes to confirm the appointment. I’ll probably get an e-mail on Monday morning.

I’ve done hundreds of oil changes in the past so this one would be Hundreds +1. I went looking for Royal Purple and couldn’t find it anywhere so I got Mobil 1. I usually use Castrol Syntec but decided to mix it up a little. Ran by the dealer and got an oil filter for $8. It came with the two O-rings and they taped a new crush washer on the box as well.

I also picked up a drain pan (six quart holding capacity – mistake number one). They should have labeled it 5 1/2 quarts, the other half a quart gets held by your garage floor for clean-up later. Grrrrrr. If it actually held six quarts then I got an extra half quart in the engine somewhere along the way. The cat litter is still on the oil pond in the garage soaking it up. More »

Jammie Thomas … name ring a bell ? Jammie Thomas was sued by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for alleged music pirating and illegal sharing of songs. She was fined $220,000. She is a 30-year-old single mom from Brainerd, MN with an annual income of $36,000.

There is only one request I can make of all my friends, new and old alike. It is a simple request not having to do with money or finances or anything of that nature. My request is this: spread the word of my cause to everyone. If you are a member of a forum, put this information in your forum. Tell your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, your associates. If you have posted comments on any of the news articles concerning my case, leave a link to my Myspace page or to the page Elizabeth J has started. I want the entire world to know about this and I want the record companies to know I’m still here. I haven’t gone anywhere and I will not be going anywhere. I will never run and hide as they assumed I would. I will be a thorn in the sides of the record companies for the rest of my life if that is what it takes. I will make this situation the worst thing the recording companies could have ever done to anyone. I will also do everything I can to help others who are in the same situation. I will not be bullied!!!

Thank you so much for your concern, your well wishes, your words of encouragement, your compliments, everything you all have done. This has helped me face a very dark time in my life and with everyone’s support, I know I will have the strength to do what needs to be done.
